According to my ever-broading insect knowledge, this is a bug. No, really--there are a group of bugs that are formally called bugs--those of the Hemiptera order. Perhaps this is Ilnacora malina aka the green plant bug, but I sure as heck don't know. Somewhere in the miridae family, that's for sure.
