old moon

Probably the last of the series: The last day of the lunar cycle. Most of the shots I took of the moon waning were using ISO 100, but this was at ISO 400 near dawn. The moon had a lot less contrast with the sky since it was close to the sun.
Levi loves to draw now. It is, however, exhausting work. Here he slips into his keister-hoister position.

Levi's oral hygiene part 2

Levi also brushes his teeth. I suspect the vigor exceeds the effectiveness.

elderly moon and gulls

The old moon is verging on new again. Some gulls flew in front of it early yesterday morning. It's getting harder to photograph this because of the morning light washing it out. I find myself distracted by the orbital geometry of the moon and sun and Earth--the closer the moon is directionally to the sun, the more of it is in shadow. It's so obvious once you know what's going on, but what a challenge to figure that out in the first place.

Chalmers Captivity Day

Chalmers Captivity Day
